I hope you can stand two videos in two days. And this one is a good bit longer (about 17 minutes). Don’t give up on it too early because there is a really special dance treat near the end that you will NOT want to miss (or just click up to the 11:13 time in the video). This is from Sarah’s ballet summer camp last week. In just one week she learned how to do this. Amazing, isn’t it? By the way, sorry for the 200MB video. I scaled it down too! You may want to wait until the video completely downloads before you play it.
A few weeks ago Sarah completed her requirements for the Twinkles graduation. She has been playing violin now for about a year. She is now on her third violin because as she grows, she needs to keep getting larger violins. Now that she has graduated from Twinkles, she will be starting Suzuki book one.
Happy Easter, everyone. We had a very nice Easter today. We ate a very nice brunch at the Founder’s Inn with my mom (who is visiting for about ten days), Karen, Calla and Quinn. Oh yeah, my mom is here for a while to take care of Sarah is on Spring Break. Of course she isn’t quite ready for trips to Daytona or anything like that, so instead she gets to spend her days reading to Grandma, dressing like princesses, and just being cute. So, back to Easter. We ate brunch, and then we met the Easter Bunny and the kids got to participate in an Easter egg hunt. I think Quinn found the most eggs. Of course there are plenty of pictures to document the entire day. After we got home from all that (and after a quick power nap), we went outside to play some T-Ball with our neighbors. It was such a beautiful day today! 70′s all day and not a cloud in the sky! After T-Ball, Sarah came back in to watch the Princess and the Frog.
As you can see, it was quite the busy day for all of us. But it was well worth it. Don’t forget to look at all the pictures!
And lot’s of it. At least for this part of the country. Just face it, us Virginians are *NOT* used to this kind of snow. At our house, we got about 8-10 inches of the white stuff. Yuck! We were going to the symphony tonight, but it was canceled. And to make matters worse, we also got a little bit of rain/slush mix later in the afternoon, and it is going to get below freezing tonight. And you know what that means… the roads will be frozen solid tomorrow morning. If you are one of those people that like snow, well you can have it. Come take it all off my yard and driveway… PLEASE!
Well, here is a short video of Sarah (and Mommy) playing in the snow. And there are a couple pictures too. Enjoy!
Taken on December 27th, 2009, using a Canon 5D Mk II with a 50mm/1.4 lens. I took one image every 15 seconds. Most of the images had a shutter speed of 1.0 seconds, but as it got darker, I increased the shutter speed up to around 5.0 seconds. And, yes, there is a dirt spot on the sensor that you can see in the water near the right side of the frame. Both videos are the same here, except the lower one has been slowed down by 50%.
This isn’t the post you are looking for. Move along.
Two posts in one day?!?! Sure, why not. Here’s some video of Sarah after coming downstairs and seeing the pile of toys that Santa left for her. This video is not as long as the last one, but very cute (in my opinion).
Last week Sarah sang in her school’s holiday concert. I got some video of it so here you go. Enjoy! (It’s a little long–about ten minutes–so you might want to wait a minute or two before playing it so your computer can download enough to let it play without stopping)
We have a tree down! The water came up a little bit farther this morning, but still nowhere close to our house. The lake in our neighbor’s yard is the biggest yet. Click on the image to jump to the gallery. Only two photos so far, but I might add more if I see anything interesting.
By the way, these were taken in the north Deep Creek area, near Military Highway and GW Highway.
The rain let up so I was a little more brave and took my camera out for a better angle.
